Masonic Order is open to men age 21 and older (or 18 years if the children of Freemasons) of any ethnic and religious background of good reputation, and a personal desire to become a Freemason.
The essential condition for admission is a belief in the immortality of the soul and in Divinity, generically called the Great Architect of the Universe.
Steps to Become a Mason
- Meet the Basic Requirements
You must be a free man of good character, believe in a Supreme Being, and meet the minimum age required by our jurisdiction. - Express Your Interest
The journey begins with your own desire. Contact us directly through our website or reach out to a Lodge in your area to express your interest in becoming a fraternal brother. - Attend Informational Meetings
You’ll have the opportunity to meet with members of the Lodge, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of Freemasonry. - Submit a Petition
If you wish to proceed, you’ll be invited to submit a formal petition to join. This is reviewed by the Lodge and initiates a confidential evaluation process. - Background Inquiry and Ballot
Lodge members conduct a discreet investigation into your character and background. Following this, your petition is subject to a secret ballot vote. - Initiation Ceremony
If accepted, you will be invited to participate in an initiation ceremony—your first step into Freemasonry.
One of Masonry's traditions is that we do not solicit members. Men must seek membership on their own initiative. When you're ready to join us, to become a Mason you can complete the Request to join the Masonic Order form and someone will contact you regarding membership.
