Regular Grand Lodge of Romania

Genealogy of the Regular Grand Lodge Phoenix

The Phoenix Lodge traces its origins to 2008, when was consecrated by the National Grand Lodge of Romania. In 2012, the lodge joined the Regular Grand Lodge of Romania, thereby strengthening its position within Romanian Freemasonry. A defining moment came in 2020, when, in response to internal challenges and disputes over organizational identity, three lodges decided to continue the Masonic work under a new name: the Regular Grand Lodge Phoenix.

Short history of the Regular Grand Lodge of Romania

The Regular Grand Lodge of Romania split off (under the name National Grand Lodge Dacia) from the National Grand Lodge of Romania in 2006. Three Respectable Lodges left that Grand Lodge due to serious irregularities occurring there. The departure was led by the late Brother Nicu Filip, who was also the first elected Grand Master of Romania after the December 1989 revolution. His first mandate as Grand Master lasted six months, during which time the National Grand Lodge Dacia was founded.
